Associate Lawyer

Joanna Taylor is a family lawyer with more than five years’ experience practising exclusively in family law. She has worked across a wide range of matters, including parenting disputes, property settlements and financial agreements, and has particular experience managing complex and high-conflict cases.

Prior to joining Catton & Tondelstrand Family Lawyers, Joanna practised at a leading specialist family law firm in Melbourne where she represented clients in both negotiated outcomes and litigation. During this time she developed strong advocacy skills and regularly assisted clients through emotionally challenging matters, providing clear and practical advice to help them move forward.

Joanna also has experience mentoring junior lawyers and supporting team development within a busy family law practice. She is known for her thoughtful and strategic approach, strong attention to detail and her commitment to achieving practical outcomes for clients while minimising unnecessary conflict wherever possible.

Joanna holds a Bachelor of Laws and Global Studies from Australian Catholic University and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Leo Cussen Centre for Law. She was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2021 and is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
